Click Mama Click Workshop
We were SO lucky to get sunshine and beautiful weather (and all the gorgeous yellow flowers blooming in Jennifer’s back garden) for Workshop Day!
We spent the morning going over the “hard content:” aperture, shutter speed, ISO and all the nitty gritty details. Lots of questions and lots of time for hands-on and slideshow examples.
Each of the ladies got to take home one of the giftbags loaded with goodies and a workbook and even a camera strap cover which everyone put on their cameras right away.
After that, it was time to get outside and test out our new knowledge. The yellow flowers were perfect subjects for practicing depth of field!
Cupcakes by Cake, Love, and Crossbones by Holland and yummy homemade soups that had been simmering all morning- we were definitely ready to warm up and chat over a hot lunch.
After lunch, we got into more creative aspects of photography: composition, sun flare, negative space, and much more. The ladies had fun dissecting some of our favorite shots and had lots of laughs over kid antics that we’ve all experienced while working with our own little subjects!
We headed back outside for more practice- Jennifer’s daughter Emma was our child model (squirmy and giggly to a T!) and we also walked over to the nearby farm to shoot some gorgeous horses as well.
Jerri the cat, lending a paw at being the inside subject for learning to control light indoors and how to correctly expose for harsh light and avoid the florescent yellow glow of lighting indoors.
All in all, it was a fantastic inaugural Click Mama Click workshop, and we’re already planning the next one! Although, it will be very hard to top this group of amazing women who signed on for our first class! Thanks ladies, and we LOVE the shots you’re already producing with your new skills!
The next Click Mama Click workshop will be tentatively scheduled for May 17th with spaces limited.
